Mothers back in the late 1800s and early 1900s did not have an easy life. The newspapers back then mostly chronicled the lives of the men, but some women's stories are known. Come hear about a double murder, a mother who lost four children within two weeks to diphtheria, a shotgun wedding, a mother determined to recover her husband and child’s drowned bodies, and a mother who was shot but carried her baby one mile for help.
Tours are free and last about an hour. We walk on gravel paths.
